COMMUNICATIVE ENGLISH CLASS INAUGURATION........

Day 44: The day began with a prayer. First hour class was handled by Maya ma'am. Ma'am asked as to share the experience about our school induction. Then ma'am moved onto the topic 'Educational Sociology'. 

•School is considered as a miniature of society. 

•It is a cross section of the society. 

•It is the application of sociological principles in the field of education.

•Both education and Society are inter related to each other. 

•Father of sociology- August Comte

•Father of Educational sociology- George Payne

These points were discussed at the class. 

Second hour class was handled by Ancy ma'am. Ma'am completed one of the western thinker- August Froebel. 

Philosophy of Froebel

•The principle of unity. 

•Principle of development. 

•Principle of self activity. 

Chief features of Educational Philosophy

•Creative of childhood. 

•Totality of educational endeavour. 

•Concept of play. 

Aims of Education

•Realize the unity principles. 

•Growth from within. 

•All around development of an individual. 

Methods of Teaching

•Teaching through gifts and occupation. 

•Teaching through play. 

•Teaching through play songs. 

These points were discussed at the class 

Third hour Joju sir and Maya Ma'am welcomed us to auditorium and inaugurated  the communicative English course for us. 

It was really an interesting class. We studied how to introduce ourselves. Then Joju sir tested us regarding spelling correction and Grammar checking. I liked the class very much. Afternoon class was handled by Shiney ma'am. Ma'am discussed about Maxims of Teaching. 

How maximum learning should be given to a child is referred to as Maxims of teaching. 

These include:

•From nearer to farther

•From facts to concepts

•From direct to indirect

•From analysis to synthesis

•From empirical to rational. 

Last hour Lekshmi ma'am came to teach us art and craft works. Joju sir introduced Lekshmi teacher to us. 

  First of all ma'am grouped us into six groups.Then a leader was chosen from each group. Later ma'am called the students who knew singing. Many of the students make use of the opportunity. All of them sang very well. Ma'am also sang nadan pattu. It was really an interesting class.
