 Day 38

 I eagerly went to college, because it was an Assembly day. The Assembly  was conducted by English optional. Pricipal had inaugurated their association name 'NIYUKTHA'.

 It was an awesome assembly. 

First hour is optional period. We had performed microteaching and Shiney ma'am directed us to complete the microteaching session. Then Ancy ma'am took the class on Western Thinker- Froebel.

Educational Ideas of Froebel

•The whole universe is simply a unity. 

•There is one eternal law, the law of unity that governs all things, men and nature. 

•Development is possible only through activity and practice. 

•Self activity is the greatest teacher. 

Features of Kindergarten

•Self activity

•Creativity

•Social participation

• Motor expression

These were the points discussed at the class. 

After Ancy ma'am class,  Maya ma'am took class on Pragmatism. 

The key elements of pragmatism are action and Experiences. 

Aim of Education in pragmatism

•Produce co-operative, social and democratic citizens. 

•Individual and social development. 

Curriculum of pragmatism

•Total experience based on utilitarian principle. 

•Professional and vocational education. 

•Activity centered

Methods Of Teaching

According to pragmatism, Education is not preparation for life, it is life itself. 

Afternoon class was handled by Joju sir. Sir shared ideas on Audiovisual aids. Audiovisual aids are those devices which are used in classrooms to encourage teaching learning process and make it easier and interesting.

We studied about projected aids in detail. It was an interesting class. 

Last hour, George Sir came and told us to took the height, weight, waist- hip ratio. All were eagerly went to took the measurements and calculated BMI index.

 Then sir gave us a work to submit this personal health chart after two weeks.
