TEACHER AS A MENTOR........

Day 61: At 9:30 am, I was ready for the online class. The online class began with optionals. Class began with a sweet prayer by Archa and Thought for the day was shared by Parvathi. Ma'am revised the points about Bloom's taxonomy and give tips for writing content analysis.
Then ma'am gave an idea on "What is planning?"
•Planning is the process of making the teaching process systematic and organized.
•Then ma'am shared ideas on Reflection in action, Reflection on action and Reflection for action.
Significance of planning
•Make the curriculum transaction systematic.
•Equip the teachers for the whole academic year.
•Organizes the procedures for quality instruction.
After explaining the significance, seminar by Biji was conducted. She did it well. By 11 am Ma'am concluded the session.
Next session by principal sir began at 11:45 am. Sir started off with a quick recollection of previous class in which we discussed about chalkboard writing skill.
Today's session was about Classroom management. Every teacher has a unique classroom management skill.The subskills of classroom management were also discussed.
•The important concept we should kept in mind is that "Before you teach your student, you should learn your student", hence creating a rapport with students is essential in classroom management.
•Then sir mentioned about How teachers should be a facilitator rather than a provider.
•Maintaining a proper time schedule is an yet another subskill of classroom management.
•Bridging of relationship with students however is the prime step in this subskill.
•PCK or Pedagogic Content Knowledge scale was the next point given. PCK scale is an essential tool used for effective time management within the class.
Then moved onto next skill, skill of closure.
At the end of the session, sir asked us to share our feedback of the overall sessions dealt. Some students shared their comments and classes ended by 12:45 pm.
