THEORIES OF FORGETTING............

Day 131: Today morning session class was handled by Dr Ancy ma'am. The class began with a discussion on the topic " Evolution of education in Kerala." The discussion was done by English optional students.The main points discussed were:Education system in kerala- History
•Gurukul system
•Pallikoodams by Christian missionaries.
•Schools for girls were established by the Maharaja in 1859.
•In 1860's, the government spread the educational programs into malabar.
Then discussed about Charles Grant- Father of modern education in India.
•Macaulay's System of Education-
were promoted in India through the medium of English language alone.
•Wood's Despatch- a written document for the purpose of promoting education in India.
Major Government interventions like DPEP, SSA were discussed.
It was a nice session, as we could able to recollect the learned informations.
Second session of the class was handled by Dr Giby ma'am. Ma'am discussed about the theories of forgetting. These includes:
•The trace Decay theory
•Interference theory
•Motivated forgetting theory
•Retrieval failure theory
Through examples,ma'am discussed about the theories. Ma'am concluded the session by discussing about the Ebbinghaus forgetting curve.
It was an interactive session.
Last session of class was handled by Dr George sir. Sir gave an idea about marking of Javelin throw, High jump and triple jump. It was a nice session.
